At the English Martial Arts Academy we strongly believe that fitness is an integral part of martial arts training. It is impossible to reach your potential as a fighter unless you are also improving your fitness. As the famous Wrestling Coach Karl Gotch said "The best wrestling hold is condition". Between two fighters of equal skill the fitter will always win.
Because of this we regularly include fitness training in our sessions on both Monday and Wednesday nights. However rather than simply doing the same circuit training or fitness routines as everyone else, we make a real effort to make our fitness work both relevant to our martial arts, as well as enjoyable in its own right.
None of us are fitness fanatics, or perfect specimens, but everyone is striving to improve, and all we ask is that you do your best. If you do we guarantee you will notice some incredible benefits in your every day life.
